Trinity/Corning U-14 Girls Soccer

Trinity's U-14 Girls hosted Corning today to some soccer at THS. Trinity shook the net in the 13th minute of the game with #19 Cameron Catanese putting Trinity up, 1-0. Following suit in the 32nd minute was Maddy Beans adding to the score and the half ended with Trinity up, 2-0. The second half, as was the first half, was full of action and excitement, and many shots on goal for both teams but only #17, Natalie Everest for Trinity, was able to put the ball over the goal line, under the cross bar, and between the posts one more time, giving Trinity some added insurance in the 69th minute. At the last whistle Trinity was up, 3-0.

Video Announcements on Cable TV Weaverville - Free

For an undetermined, limited time, Mike Carroll Art is offering free production of video announcements that can be submitted to local public access tv in Weaverville. This offer is for non-profit groups in Trinity County, CA, and can be used for public events, meetings, workshops, etc. You can benefit by promoting your event and the video announcement will be produced with the assistance of local youths who will also benefit with the experience of co-producing the video announcement.

Summer Soccer Camp

Tentative plans for this summer's "Just For Kicks" Summer Soccer Camp (open to players entering 1st - 8th grades)
July 22, 23, 24, 25, 2013, 9:00 to Noon, at THS Soccer Field

All days: Equipment inspection
All days: 100 touch warmups
Monday 22nd: Focus on passing, kick offs, throw-ins
Tuesday 23rd: Defending, 1v1, 2v1, 3v3, goal kicks
Wednesday 24th: Shooting, low, aerial, bending, corners
Thursday 25th: Storming fullbacks for possession, drop ball, penalty kicks, kicks from the mark, goalie wars, slip'n'slide
All days: Small sided game with conditions
All days: Small sided game with no conditions
All days: Be the ref during portion of small sided game
All days: Cool down, chat, snacks and prizes
All days: lots of skills, exercise and fun

This is the current working schedule. There may be some additions and or schedule changes but the dates and times are set. Only $45 per camper for all four days or $15 per camper per individual day.

TYSL Soccer Fall Season 2013

TYSL is accepting applications for fall season soccer. Get your kids signed up early and save $10 per player. Flyers and applications are available for download using the above links on this page, at Ace, CVS and the Youth Center in Weaverville, at surrounding schools, and you can also keep further updated with TYSL at www.facebook.com/TrinityYouthSoccerLeague. Not only can you save money by signing your kids up early but it also helps the volunteer TYSL registration process run smoother.

The Trinity U-14 Girls 2013 Spring Soccer Team after competing with Red Bluff on Saturday, May 4 in Weaverville.

Trinity U-14 Girls Soccer

The Trinity U-14 girls had a very exciting game taking on a tough Red Bluff team on Saturday, May 4. Trinity had a goal called back in the first half due to an attacker making contact on the Red Bluff goal keeper.

Trinity's #9, Maddy Beans was able to find the way to the net in the 23rd minute for the first recorded goal of the game and the first half ended with a 1-0 lead for Trinity.

In the second half Trinity's #19, Cameron Catanese put the ball to the net in minute 55 increasing the Trinity lead to 2-0.

Red Bluff scored in the 69th minute, halving the Trinity lead, 2-1.

Just afterward, in the last minute of the game, what appeared at first to be a goal visually for Trinity but was actually a high chipper just over the crossbar, landing tangled in the outside back of the net, was a shot by Trinity's Lauren Harper. Rather than Trinity sealing the game at that moment, they had to maintain a strong defense for one more minute of exciting soccer, which they were able to do to bring the game to its conclusion at a 2-1 Trinity victory.
